Project Description |
The World Literature classes I taught in 2013-2014 at UT-Austin had a significant digital archives component. I write about the experience in “Digital Archives in the Wired World Literature Classroom,” forthcoming in ARIEL in Spring 2015. I am currently planning an English class for the spring semester here at Southwestern University, titled “Freedom and Imprisonment in the American Literary Tradition: A Multidisciplinary Approach.” The course will have a major digital archives component; as part of their coursework, students will have opportunities to engage with digital archives initiatives such as the Texas After Violence Project, Fatal Encounters, and the American Prison Writing Archive.
