Hi everyone. Just a word to let you know that you are part of a grand experiment. The TxDHC website is working in conjunction with members of DiRT to alpha test a new DiRT plugin that works with BuddyPress and Commons-in-a-Box. Please take a look, give it a try and let me know if you have any questions, comments, or problems. I will pass them on to the development team.
If you go to your profiles on the TxDHC website you’ll see a new “Digital Research Tools” menu item on the left. Clicking on that, and then the link on that page will bring up a browse/search page for the tools available at the DiRT site. You can check which ones you use. Then other users can see what tools you use (http://www.txdhc.org/members/mchristy/dirt/ is my list so far). You can also see all TxDHC users who use those same tools.
Additionally, the tool works with Groups as the discretion of Group Owners. With the plugin enable for Groups you will have the option of being able to see which tools are used by the members of that group. I’ve turned this on for the Metadata Standards group so you can see it (http://www.txdhc.org/groups/metadata-standards-and-best-practices/dirt/). However, currently I am the only member of this Group with any tools selected.
Group owners, you can enable the plugin for your Group by selecting the Manage item from the Group’s menu on the left and then on the Digital Research Tools item from the top menu. Choose “Enable” then the Save Changes button.
